Osaka, the Glorious City of Kindred Hearts

Osaka retains the local charm while being cosmopolitan.

Since I visited her for the first time in 2018, Osaka has held a special place in my heart. Although it has tasted rather bitter-sweet recently, I cannot help loving her, especially her people.

Nostalgic Hankyu Train.

Akashi-yaki, the appe-like dumplings, and the vending machine for 50-yen beverages.

Mesmerizing Christmas window decorations in Osaka Station.

We visited Osaka with my 72-year-old mother this time,
and utilized our Marriott Bonboy points to stay at The Osaka Station Hotel.

The hotel lobby was located on the 29th floor of the KITTE Osaka building,
where the old Osaka Station was located.
Therefore, the entire premises feature the journey on the rail,
and it was a fun and memorable stay for us.

On each floor, they had a water server, reminding us of that from the old-time train.
At the lobby, they had a Gotcha machine that served specialty lapel pins.

The clock hung in their lobby is interesting;
two workers work hard to gather dust using their blooms as time passes.
